Welcome, we are happy you are here!

The RecoverED Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization aiding those in eating disorder recovery, spreading awareness, and providing communal support. Our motto, “Finding FreEDom” stems from our belief that recovery is possible, and anyone struggling with an eating disorder or disordered eating can find their freedom. We are a young-adult led team, driven by passion and purpose.

Our Work

  • Cards with Courage

Throughout the year, The RecoverED Project delivers thoughtful, handmade cards of support to patients in eating disorder treatment centers across the Untied States. These cards, which have reached over one thousand patients, bring a sense a community and inspiration to those in a crucial time of recovery. As requested by treatment centers, The RecoverED Project also sends care packages to patients.

  • Community Engagement

We believe that real change happens when we open up honest conversations about the issues we see in our communities and work on impactful solutions together. Our community engagement programs, including High School and College Clubs, our Ambassador Program, and our Communal Blog allow volunteers to bring education, resources, and support to their local communities.

  • Education and Awarness

An essential factor of support to the eating disorder recovery community is preventative and early action education, as well as awareness and information to support those struggling and their support systems. Through educational presentations to youth, workshops and webinars, our family toolkit, and our social media campaigns, which have reached over 30 million people, we continue to prioritize education and awareness.

Our Impact

We are thrilled to share that our awareness and educational campaigns were viewed more than 30 million times in 2025 alone. Our team has also sent more than 1000 cards and 100 care packages to patients in eating disorder treatment centers, connected directly with more than 400 community members through our ambassador program, campus chapters, and volunteer opportunities. Through our commitment to advocacy, our team has also been present at multiple Capitol Hill Advocacy Days, Mental Health Conferences, and Fundraising Events; ensuring youth voices are present in conversations about the future of eating disorder care.
